The Sustainable Community Hub explores how existing community infrastructure can become active social and ecological infrastructure: spaces that support everyday interaction while connecting people with the environmental and resource systems around them, incorporating the Sustainable Urban–Rural Health Program (which explores relationships between food, health, landscape, community and the rhythm of urban–rural systems).​

The Hub is conceived as a spatial interface between everyday community life, the neighbourhood and the wider ecological and resource systems that sustain it.



UNDERSTAND → FRAME → DESIGN→ TEST → ADAPT

Each place begins with its own social, spatial and ecological conditions. The design process therefore moves from observation and dialogue to architectural hypotheses, testing and adaptation.

Learning can then travel between contexts — without turning local places into copies of one another.
